COLUMBUS - The second-seeded Columbus State University women's soccer team advances to the Peach Belt Conference tournament semifinals after defeating seventh-seeded Georgia College & State University 5-2 Monday night at the Walden Soccer Complex.
The Cougars got on top early thanks to a
Brooke Ouimette header that found the back of the net in the first minute and a half of play.
Emma Beddow collected the assist on the play. Georgia College quickly tied the game in the 10th minute.
Anna Grady scored in the 18th minute to take back the lead, and just four minutes later, Beddow scored her first goal of the match, assisted by Grady, ending the first half with a 3-1 score.
In the second half, Beddow found the net in the 50th minute thanks to an assist by
Lauren Barnes. Barnes then scored off of a penalty kick in the 80th minute to make it 5-1 CSU.
With just three minutes to play, the Bobcats added another goal to make the final score 5-2.

The second-seeded Cougars will play third-seeded Flagler College on Friday, Nov. 10 in Dahlonega, Ga. The time of the match will be announced later this week.
