MORROW, Ga. - The Columbus State University men's basketball team lost to Clayton State 66-63 on the road on Saturday night. This would be CSU's second loss in a row, dropping them to a record of 13-11 and 6-8 in PBC play. Clayton State improves to 3-21 on the season and 1-13 in PBC play.
Jehloni James had a career day for the Cougars as he scored a season-high of 24 points. His impressive game included season-highs in field goals made, rebounds, and free-throws made. His double-double is his first of the season and he is heating up at the right time for CSU.
Columbus State led at halftime by a score of 32-26 but CSU would give up the led with 12 minutes left in the second half and this would be the last time they saw the lead in this game. Richardo Saams Jr. for Clayton State was a one man wrecking crew as he pulled in 16 rebounds, five of them were offensive rebounds, and finished with 21 points. Columbus State would have one final chance at the end of the game to tie it but the three-pointer was left short.
