Bluftton, Sc. - The Columbus State University baseball team wins their fourth game in a row in their win Friday, April 21 against the University of South Carolina Beaufort by a score of 11-1. The run rule brings the Cougars to 29-12 on the season and 15-10 inside the Peach Belt Conference. The Sand Sharks fall to 12-27 and 5-20 in the PBC.
The Cougars got their offense working in the second inning which gave starting pitcher
Noah Windhorst all the run support he needed. CSU had four singles in the inning to score two runs and
Steven Minter blasted his third homer of the season to drive home three more. Minter now has four, three-hit games in his last ten games played and has brought his batting average up to .393 on the season.
Windhorst took this lead and ran with it and he tossed seven strong innings of one run ball with four strikeouts. The lone run came in the seventh inning on a two-out RBI-single. He is now second in the Peach Belt with a 2.09 era and he is fourth in the conference with 77.2 innings pitched.
CSU had another offensive explosion in the eighth inning where the Cougars put up six runs off seven hits highlighted by five singles and two doubles from
Matthew McDade and
Will Wilbanks. This gave the Cougars a 10 run lead over the Sand Sharks and the run rule came into effect. Today marks the fourth game in a row where Columbus State has scored 10 or more runs.

The Cougars will return to the diamond on Saturday, April 22 when they take on the USCB Sand Sharks for their second game of their three game Peach Belt Conference series. First pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
