COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University women's soccer team defeated Peach Belt Conference foe Clayton State University 3-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at the Walden Soccer Complex. The Cougars improve to 2-3-1 while the Lakers fall to 1-3-2.

Sage Smith at the top of the circle with two seconds left. Smith kicked a buzzer-beater goal to put Columbus State ahead 2-0 heading into halftime.Â
Clayton State was very aggressive with the Cougars in the second half, committing nine fouls in which one forced a penalty kick. It was Beddow who took the penalty kick and scored in the 55th minute, making it a 3-0 ball game.Â
The Cougars out shot the Lakers 22-8 (10-5 SOG) and recorded six corner kicks as the Lakers tallied four. In goal, starter
