AMERICUS, Ga. - The Columbus State University men's basketball team lost its four-game win streak Wednesday night as Peach Belt Conference foe Georgia Southwestern State University beat the Cougars 82-53 in the Storm Dome. CSU falls to 8-4 (2-1 PBC) and GSW improves to 10-3 (2-1 PBC).
Georgia Southwestern took control of the game halfway through the first half after going on a 10-0 run against the Cougars. Heading into halftime, CSU trailed the Hurricanes 24-37.
The Canes outscored the Cougars in the second half 45-29 to seal the victory.
Jarrett Adderton led Columbus State with 19 points and seven rebounds. The junior shot 54 percent (7-13) from the field and a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line.
Wisdom Uboh also added nine points.
As a team, the Cougars shot 37 percent from the field, 18.8 percent from three-point range and 50 percent from the charity stripe.
