AIKEN, S.C. - With nine seconds left in the game, No. 22 USC Aiken scored to beat the Columbus State University men's basketball team 64-63 at Aiken's Convocation Center on Saturday, Jan. 20. With the loss, the Cougars fall to 9-6 (3-3 PBC) and USC Aiken improves to 14-2 (5-1 PBC).
Both Peach Belt Conference teams were back-and-forth throughout the entirety of the game, equally matching up with each other. In the first half, the Pacers outscored the Cougars 34-30, while the second half Columbus State scored 33 points and USCA only scored 30.Â
The game came down to free-throws. Columbus State shot 56.3 percent (9-16) from the charity stripe while Aiken shot 87.5 percent (7-8). However, CSU recorded a better percentage from the three-point line, shooting 54.5 percent (12-22) while USCA shot 42.9 percent (9-21). Both teams shot in the 40 percent range from the field.

Jarrett Adderton (18 points),
Joshua Jerome (14 points),
Jehloni James (11 points). The Pacers shut down CSU's offensive threat
Wisdom Uboh, who averages 13 points a game, only tallied five points.
