COLUMBUS - The Columbus State University men's basketball team defeated Peach Belt Conference opponent Augusta University 91-87 in overtime to break the five-game losing streak to the Jaguars. With the win on Saturday, the Cougars remain undefeated in the PBC and improve to 8-3, while the Jaguars fall to 7-5 and 0-2 in the conference.
Columbus State outscored Augusta 41-37 in the first half, however the Jaguars broke out after halftime to outscore CSU 38-34 to force overtime. The Jaguars got into foul trouble and CSU took advantage of free-throws to win.
Wisdom Uboh led the Cougars with 25 points, shooting 47 percent (8-17) from the field, 40 percent (4-10) from three-point range and was perfect from the charity stripe. Three other Cougars' scored in the double-digits, including
Jarrett Adderton (16) and
Marquis Davison (14).
Jehloni James recorded a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds and scoring 12 points.
Off the bench,
Caleb Byrd scored nine points and shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.

Columbus State will travel to Americus, Ga. on Wednesday, Jan. 10 to face PBC rival Georgia Southwestern State University at 7:30 p.m.
