DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The Columbus State University men's basketball team defeated the University of North Georgia 68-67 in overtime Saturday afternoon in Dahlonega. The Cougars improve to 11-10 (5-7 PBC) and UNG falls to 19-3 (10-2 PBC).
The Cougars outscored the Nighthawks 40-30 in the first half, but North Georgia took control in the second half, outscoring Columbus State 29-19, forcing an overtime session. In overtime, CSU gained a five-point line but with one minute left, UNG tied it at 67. With just two seconds left,
Wisdom Uboh was fouled and made one free-throw to secure the upset victory.
Marquis Davison led the Cougars with 16 points,
Jarrett Adderton tallied 14 and
Jehloni James scored 11. The Cougars shot 43.8 percent from the field, 25.9 percent from behind the arc and 50 percent from the free-throw line.
