COLUMBUS - The No. 6 Columbus State University men's tennis team defeated No. 19 University of West Alabama 6-1 on Saturday morning at the John W. Walden Tennis Center in Columbus. The Cougars improve to 3-0 on the season and the Tigers fall to 0-2.

Doubles

• In #2 doubles, Thomas Cardona and Daniel Hammond won 6-4
• Justin Welz and Camilo Cano won 6-4 in the third spot
• Felix Steen and Andreas Sandrone were winning 5-3 in #1 doubles, but the match was unfinished due to the two sweeps 

Singles

• Cano won in #1 singles 7-6, 6-2
• Cardona won in the third spot 6-2, 6-2
• In #4 singles, Hammond won 6-1, 6-4
• Steen won 6-2, 6-4 in #5 singles
• Sandrone won 6-1, 5-7 in the sixth spot

The Cougars will prepare for the ITA National Indoor Championship from Feb. 14-19 in Indianapolis.
