ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Columbus State University men's golfer
Bernard Meyer opened the spring season with a first place finish at the Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate hosted by Lincoln Memorial University at the St. Johns Golf and Country Club in St. Augustine, Fla.
Meyer shot a 4-under 212 total to secure the top spot out of 102 players. The sophomore shot 4-under par in the first round and 3-under par in the second round on Monday. In the final round on Tuesday, Meyer shot 3-over, but was still greater than any other competitor.
Martin Gruendemann finished T36th, shooting 10-over 226.
Phil Snyman placed T51st with a score of 13-over 229, and
Russell Makepeace and
Blake Parkman both tied for 72nd, shooting 18-over.
As a team, the Cougars finished 9th out of 20 teams with a score of 34-over 898.

Columbus State will compete in the Spring Bulldog Clash hosted by Barton College on Feb. 26 and 27 in Pawley's Island, S.C.
