NORMAN, Okla. –
Martin Gruendemann of Columbus State University men's golf has been named to the PING All-American Honorable Mention team, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced on Thursday afternoon.
Gruendemann, an All-Southeast Region and Second-Team All-PBC selection has totaled a 71.1 scoring average across 36 rounds this season, ranking 15th in the region and 40th nationally according to CLIPPD. He won once and has finished within the top 10 in three tournaments, including the NCAA South/Southeast Regional.
As a team, Columbus State finished the season with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA DII National Championship down in Florida. Gruendemann finished three-over for the tournament with a highlight opening one-over 71 first round, placing T34th on the individual leaderboard.
Columbus State finished ranked 13th nationally in the Bushnell/Golfweek poll and 14th in the CLIPPD standings as well, with six top-five placements. Gruendemann's recognition marks back-to-back seasons that CSU men's golf has produced an All-American Honorable Mention.
