COLUMBUS - The Columbus State baseball team lost 2-10 to No. 16 Young Harris College on Saturday afternoon at Ragsdale Field. The Cougars are now 3-7 on the season.
The Cougars scored two runs in the first to take an early lead over the Mountain Lions.
Cody Ferguson hit a RBI single to right center field, plating
Jackson Chizek.
Win Johns then reached on a fielder's choice to third base, collecting a RBI when Ferguson scored.
Young Harris had a huge fifth inning, scoring eight runs six hits and one error. The Mountain Lions added two more runs in the ninth off of three hits. YHC tallied 18 hits as a team while the Cougars recorded seven hits.
Johnny Dow collected the loss on the mound after 4.0 innings pitched, allowing eight runs and 10 hits. Ferguson and King each had two hits.
The Cougars and Mountain Lions will play the final game of the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
