GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Columbus State University men's basketball team upset Lander University in a 78-75 win Saturday afternoon on the road. The Cougars improve to 13-12 (7-9 PBC) and Lander falls to 20-6 (12-4 PBC).
After the first half of play Lander took a 41-32 lead over the Cougars. In the second, Columbus State came out of the locker room with energy and offensive momentum to outscore the Bearcats 46-34 to give Lander their fourth conference loss of the season.
Wisdom Uboh and
Marquis Davison led CSU offensively, Uboh scoring 19 points and Davison tallying 18 points.
Caleb Byrd tallied 11 points and
Jehloni James was just short of a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds and scoring nine points.
The Cougars shot an impressive 95 percent from the free-throw line, 50 percent from behind the arc and 37.5 percent from the free-throw line.
