VALDOSTA, Ga. - The No. 5 Columbus State men's tennis team lost 0-7 to No. 4 Valdosta State Thursday afternoon on the road. With the loss, the Cougars are now 4-3 and the Blazers improve to 6-2.
The only Cougars that won on Thursday was the doubles duo of
Thomas Cardona and
Daniel Hammond. The pair competed in #2 doubles, beating Takeshi Taco and Jerome Iaconi 3-6. The pairs of
Andreas Sandrone and
Felix Steen, and
Camilo Cano and
Justin Welz both lost their doubles matches 4-6.
Valdosta State swept Columbus State in singles, winning all six matches in two sets each.
UP NEXT
Columbus State was scheduled to play Morehouse College on Friday, March 1 at the John W. Walden Tennis Center in Columbus, Ga., but because of rain on the forecast, the match will be postponed to a later date. The Cougars will play the University of Montevallo on Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m. in Columbus.
