COLUMBUS - The Columbus State men's basketball team defeated Georgia Southwestern 70-60 Wednesday night in the Frank G. Lumpkin, Jr. Center. The Cougars improve to 10-10 overall and 4-7 in the Peach Belt Conference, while GSW falls to 13-8 (5-6 PBC).
CSU came out hot from the jump, going on an 11-0 run to start the first half. However, GSW came back and outscored the Cougars 38-33 at the end of the half.
After halftime, Columbus State gained momentum and held the Hurricane offense to only 22 points in the final 20 minutes of play. The Cougars scored 37 points in the second half to seal the home court victory, snapping the five-game losing streak.
Jehloni James led CSU with 19 points and
Wisdom Uboh tallied 17.
Marquis Davison recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Kordell Brown also had 10 points.

The Cougars will travel to the University of North Georgia on Saturday, Feb. 10 to play the Nighthawks at 3:30 p.m.
