Cody Ferguson went 4-for-6 at the plate on Sunday against Flagler College to lift the Cougars to a 19-8 win, sweeping the Peach Belt Conference series. Columbus State improves to 14-9 (4-2 PBC).
The Cougars tallied 22 hits to lift them over the Saints. CSU scored four runs in the first inning, two in the second, four again in the fifth, eight in the sixth and one in the seventh. FC only scored in the first, sixth and seventh innings.
Ferguson led the Cougars with four hits, four RBI, two runs and a home run.
Derek Wylie was 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI, three runs, a double and a home run.Â
Colby Brabston,
Win Johns and
Kole McGlumphy each recorded three hits. Brabston tallied a double and three RBI, while Johns hit a homer with two RBI and McGlumphy also had two RBI.
Jackson Chizek hit a double and was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
On the mound,
Trace Goforth earned the win after 6.0 innings pitched, striking out five batters and allowing two runs.Â
