MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Columbus State University baseball team defeated Auburn University Montgomery on the road Tuesday afternoon in 10 innings.
Derek Wylie launched a solo home run in the top of the 10th to give the Cougars a 5-4 lead.
With the win, CSU extends it's winning streak to five games and the Cougars now post a 15-9 overall record.Â

Trevor Gruszka put CSU at three runs by hitting a single to right field, scoring

AUM took the lead in the bottom of the sixth, scoring four runs off five hits, two of those hits being doubles. However, the Cougars tied the game at four in the eighth thanks to a solo homer from Johns. Neither team scored in the ninth, forcing extra innings.

Peyton Burton struck out the first two batters to put CSU one out away from the road win. AUM hit back-to-back singles, but Burton was able to force a ground out to end the game.
Wylie was 3-for-5 at the plate with one RBI and Johns was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Burton received the win on the mound after 2.0 innings and striking out two.
