AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Columbus State University baseball team defeated Augusta University 4-3 Saturday afternoon and
Kole McGlumphy led the Cougars going 3-for-4 at the plate. With the win, the Cougars are 21-14 (9-6 PBC).
CSU took a 2-0 lead in the third inning thanks to a RBI single from
Colby Brabston and a RBI double from McGlumphy. Augusta tied the game quick in the next half inning with a two-run triple to center field.
In the fifth inning,
Cody Ferguson put the Cougars ahead with a solo home run. However, the Jaguars tied the game at three with a RBI single.
Luke Hasty gave CSU the lead with a RBI single up the middle, scoring
Trevor Gruszka.
Leo Giannoni collected the win on the mound and is now 5-1 on the season. He pitched 3.1 innings and struck out two.
Ferguson, Brabston, Hasty and
Cole Eison recorded two hits each.
