Ryan Suppa pitched a complete game. The Cougars improve to 22-14 on the season.
Columbus State came out swinging in the top of the first inning, scoring five runs off of five hits. With runners on first and second,
Derek Wylie ripped a RBI double to right field, plating
Cody Ferguson to put the Cougars on board.
Colby Brabston followed up with a RBI ground out to second base, scoring
Andrew Rubin.
Win Johns stepped up to the plate and launched a RBI double to plate Wylie, and came home two batters later thanks to a
Luke Hasty RBI single to left field. After an Albany State pitching change,
Cole Eison hit a sac fly to left to score
Kole McGlumphy.
The Golden Rams got one run back in the next half inning, scoring on a balk. The scoreboard had zeros until the sixth inning when
Jackson Chizek and Wylie both launched home runs to make it an 8-1 ball game.
Suppa improves to 2-1 on the mound after his impressive appearance. In his complete game, he gave up six hits, one run, one walk and struck out six.
