AMERICUS, Ga. - The Columbus State University baseball team lost 6-13 to Peach Belt Conference rival Georgia Southwestern State University on Friday evening in Americus, Ga.
Georgia Southwestern out-hit Columbus State 14-9 and the Cougars recorded five errors.
The Hurricanes took a 5-0 lead over the Cougars by the second inning, but
Andrew Rubin put the Cougars on board with a two-run home run in the top of the third. GSW quickly made it 9-2 in the fifth and sixth innings.
In the seventh,
Jackson Chizek hit a three-run home run to minimize the Hurricanes' lead, making the score 9-5, however the Canes scored four more runs in the bottom of the inning off of a two-run RBI double and a two-run RBI single. CSU attempted a comeback in the ninth inning, as
