COLUMBUS - The second-seeded Columbus State University men's tennis team secured a berth in the Peach Belt Conference championship match after defeating 3rd-seeded North Georgia 4-1. The semifinal match took place at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.

RESULTS
Columbus State 4, North Georgia 1

Columbus State (13-6, 4-1 PBC) will have a shot at winning their sixth consecutive Peach Belt Conference championship on Sunday.

The Cougars took an early lead after securing the doubles point at one and three doubles. The duo Thomas Cardona and Felix Steen made quick work of UNG at number one doubles, taking the match 6-2.

Andreas Sandrone and Elias Peter won the third doubles match 6-3, giving the Cougars the doubles point. That left the final court with Camilo Cano and Justin Welz unfinished at 4-3.

The number one singles match yielded North Georgia's lone point. With a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Justin Welz, the Nighthawk J. Benoit gave UNG their first—and ultimately their final—point of the match.

The Cougars' three singles wins came from the number three, four, and five spots, all in straight sets.

At number three singles, Camilo Cano defeated R. Eldin for the second time this season, 6-1, 7-6.

Daniel Hammond defeated C. Cahour from UNG, 6-3, 6-3 at number four singles.

Senior Andreas Sandrone made light work on his court in number five singles, taking down M. Castellanos 6-2, 6-1.
