COLUMBUS – Graduate Student Blake Lewis has been named the Columbus State University Athlete of the Week after leading the Cougar Men's Cross-Country team at the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Championship.

Lewis turned in a standout performance on Saturday in Milledgeville, Ga., finishing 21st overall with a time of 26:52.0 to pace Columbus State to a fifth-place team result against a competitive conference field.

A native of St. Simons Island, Ga., Lewis graduated from Lake Mary High School and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at Columbus State. Known for his steady leadership and work ethic, he continues to be a driving force for the program both on and off the course.

When asked about a quote that inspires him most, Lewis shared a verse that reflects his strength and faith:

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." – Psalm 23:4

With his performance at the conference championship, Lewis once again demonstrated the resilience and competitive spirit that embody Cougar Athletics.
