COLUMBUS – Columbus State men's tennis welcomed Wingate (N.C.) to the John W. Walden Tennis Center in Columbus on Wednesday afternoon.
The No. 24-ranked Cougars (6-6) slipped in a 4-2 defeat to the Bulldogs (8-0) picking up the doubles point and one point in No. 4 singles.
Andrea Sandrone and Elias Peter secured a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles while Camilo Cano and Samer Al Tori also won 6-3 in No. 3 doubles. No. 2 doubles and No. 1 singles were left unfinished.
Sandrone won the lone singles match over Luka Brown, taking 7-6 wins in both sets forcing two tiebreakers.
