COLUMBUS – Columbus State baseball defeated Auburn-Montgomery on Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars moved to a 13-15 overall record after today's single game match-up.

The Warhawks got on the board quickly after a base hit followed by a home run to left field put them up 2-0 in the first inning. In the second inning, AUM produced two more hits as they left two stranded on base. The Cougars struggled in the first two innings with quick outings, but were able to break through in the third inning.
The Cougars had two outs on the board, but were able to go on a scoring run to keep the inning going. Ethan Crawley ripped a single to right field as Luke Miller and Ian King loaded the bases with two walks. Cayden Evans walked to base which brought in Crawley followed by a grand slam from Cole Eison.
In the fourth inning, CSU brought the lead to 6-2 after Luke Miller doubled down the right field line to bring in Michael Cruz for an unearned run.
The Cougars went up 8-2 in the eighth inning after Cruz singled to bring in pinch runner Luke Meszar followed by a sacrifice fly from Miller. In the ninth inning, AUM collected another run to end the game 8-3 in favor of the Cougars.

Eison led with a 1.000 slugging percentage as he recorded a grand slam in the third inning.

AUM led with ten hits while CSU had five hits. All of Columbus State's hits were produced by a different Cougar.

AUM walked six Cougars as CSU only walked one Warhawk.
