PENSACOLA, Fla. – Columbus State baseball fell 4-12 to West Florida on Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars are now 20-17 on the season.
West Florida got on the board first to go up 1-0 against the Cougars.
Cayden Evans recorded Columbus State's first hit of the game after he notched a single to right field in the first inning.
Columbus State responded in the second inning after
Warrick Wilmot opened the scoring with a home run to down the right field line.
Bryce Knox followed with a single to center field and
Michael Cruz drew a walk.
Luke Miller brought Knox and Cruz home after he notched a homer to right field picking up three RBIs. The Cougars recorded three hits with four runs to bring the score to 4-1.
West Florida went on to score nine runs in the next six innings, bringing the final score to 12-4.
