COLUMBUS, GA. – The 10th-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the young 2026 season on Sunday afternoon, falling to No. 6 Embry-Riddle University by a score of 5-2 from the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In double play, Columbus State gained an early 1-0 match lead with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
- The No. 1 tandem of senior Nikoline Gullacksen and freshman Claudia De Lucas won 6-3, followed by an identical 6-3 win in the No. 2 contest by the duo of senior Laura Pesickova and freshman Isabell Ek.
- In singles play, the Eagles tallied five victories to secure the road win.
- Columbus State's lone singles win came in the No. 6 flight as Ek was a 7-5, 7-6 winner to move her season record to a perfect 2-0 mark.
