COLUMBUS — The No. 6-seed Columbus State University Men's Basketball team will begin its run in the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship this weekend when the Cougars travel to Anderson, S.C., for the Southeast Regional hosted by Anderson University. Columbus State will face No. 3-seed Catawba College on Saturday, March 14, at 12:00 p.m. inside the Abney Athletic Center.
Columbus State enters the tournament with a 22–8 overall record and is making its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II Championship. The Cougars are led by head coach
Robert Moore, who has guided the program to six NCAA Tournament appearances during his tenure.
The Cougars are anchored by
Marlon Smith, the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, whose standout performances throughout the season have helped lead Columbus State to another postseason berth. Smith has been a key contributor on both ends of the floor, providing scoring, leadership, and defensive presence for the Cougars throughout the year.
