COLUMBUS – The Columbus State University Men's Basketball team opens tournament play this Wednesday, as they are set to host Georgia Southwestern State University in the quarterfinal round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament on Wednesday, March 4. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at the Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center in Columbus, GA.
The Cougars are the No. 2 seed in the tournament with a 15-5 conference record, which earned the team hosting honors for the quarterfinals. Higher seeds will host as the tournament continues.
Wednesday's match-up marks the start of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament, where eight of the league's top programs compete for a spot in Saturday's semifinals, as the Cougars look to capture the Peach Belt Tournament Championship.
Columbus State enters the quarterfinal having already defeated Georgia Southwestern State University twice this season, earning a 75-72 road victory in Americus, Ga., before securing an 82-69 win at home in Columbus.
