ANDERSON, S.C. – The 34th-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team pulled off its second upset of the young 2026 season with a 6-1 victory over No. 31 Anderson University (S.C.) on Friday afternoon from the AU Tennis Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Columbus State won all three doubles contests to build an early 1-0 team lead.
- The No. 1 doubles team of senior Nikoline Gullacksen and freshman Claudia De Lucas was a 7-5 winner, while the tandem of freshman Isabell Ek and senior Laura Pesickova won 6-2 at No. 2.
- Redshirt-sophomore Sofia Lauretti and junior Monika Temkova won 6-4 at No. 3 to complete the doubles sweep for the Cougars.
- In singles play, Lauretti (6-0, 6-3), Pesickova (6-2, 6-0), Ek (6-2, 6-1), and junior Maria Markosov (6-1, 6-2) all won their individual matches in straight sets.
- Gullacksen went the distance at No. 1, winning 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 to earn a point for CSU.
