COLUMBUS – The second-seeded Columbus State women's tennis team, ranked No 8 in the latest ITA Poll, collected its second straight 4-0 win in the 2026 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
Saturday's regional finale matched the Cougars up against Peach Belt Conference foe Flagler College, seeded third overall and ranked No. 15 in the latest ITA National Poll.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Columbus State gained an early lead in the match with a point in doubles play as grad student Annie Adams and junior Maria Markosov won 6-3 on court three, followed by a 6-2 win at No. 1 by senior Laura Pesickova and freshman Isabell Ek, the 49th-ranked doubles duo nationally.
- In singles play, Pesickova was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 5, and freshman Claudia De Lucas won 6-0, 6-1 in the third flight.
- For the second straight day, redshirt-sophomore Sofia Lauretti clinched the team win, this time with a 6-3, 6-3 victory on court four to propel the Cougars forward in the NCAA Tournament.

Columbus State advances to the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship in Surprise, Arizona on May 19-23. The NCAA will reseed all 16 regional champions prior to the start of the championships and announce matchups at a later date.
