COLUMBUS, Ga. — The Columbus State University Men's and Women's Tennis programs have announced their five-event schedule for the 2026 fall season.
CSU opens the fall at the UNG Invitational on Sept. 18 and 19 in Dahlonega, Ga., before returning home to host the CSU Invitational on Sept. 25 and 26 at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
The Cougars travel to Sumter, S.C., for the ITA Southeast Regional Championships from Oct. 15 through 19 and to Montgomery, Ala., for the Alabama State Hidden Dual from Oct. 23 through 25. The fall concludes with qualified student-athletes competing at the inaugural ITA Division II Singles & Doubles Championships from Nov. 4 through 8 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
"We are excited to get our players back on campus and begin training," head coach Evan Isaacs said. "This fall schedule will give both teams opportunities to compete against strong fields, sharpen their games, and build momentum heading into the spring."
The CSU women return after a 21-5 season that included the Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament championships. The Cougars defeated Flagler College 4-1 at home to claim the PBC Tournament title before earning NCAA Southeast Regional victories over Newberry College and Flagler.
Columbus State advanced to the NCAA Championship in Surprise, Ariz., and defeated Washburn University 4-1 in the Round of 16 before its season ended in the national quarterfinals.
Nikoline Gullacksen was named the PBC Player of the Year and earned ITA All-America honors in singles, while Isaacs collected his sixth PBC Coach of the Year award on the women's side. Gullacksen and Monika Temkova received First Team All-PBC honors in singles and doubles. Laura Pesickova and Isabell Ek earned First Team recognition in doubles, while Claudia De Lucas was selected to the Second Team in singles.
Sofia Lauretti returns after posting a 15-6 singles record and a 4-1 doubles mark last season. She went 12-5 at No. 4 singles, won six of her final eight singles matches, and earned a spot on the 2025-26 PBC All-Academic Team.
The CSU men finished last season with a 20-3 record after also sweeping the PBC regular season and tournament championships. The Cougars defeated Flagler 4-2 in the conference tournament final before shutting out Belmont Abbey College 4-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Thomas Cardona was named the PBC Player of the Year, Hugo Didier earned PBC Freshman of the Year honors, and Isaacs was selected as the men's PBC Coach of the Year for the eighth time.
Cardona and Didier earned First Team All-PBC honors in singles, while Andrea Sandrone and Elias Peter were named to the First Team in doubles. Daniel Hammond and Benedek Szombathelyi received Second Team doubles recognition.
Hammond returns after recording an 11-3 singles record and a 14-5 doubles mark. He went 5-0 in conference doubles play and won five of his final six singles matches and seven of his final nine doubles matches.
