Columbus State wasted no time getting on the board as Lowery notched her first goal of the game just 5:31 into the match. The play started with Parrish crossing the ball across the box to Leslie Mathews who laid the ball off to Lowery for a one-time finish. Lowery picked up her second goal of the contest in the 10th minute again off a feed from Mathews. Mathews cutback on the end line freeing up a passing lane to Lowery whose blast went off the fingertips of Lady Eagles goalkeeper Kyline Humm.
Less than a minute later the third goal of the game was put on the board by Parrish. Jordan McKenzie served a corner kick into the box which bounced one time before Parrish volleyed it home. Late in the first half, Amy Lee played a through-ball to Emily Husted for a breakaway. Husted calmly placed the ball to the left post past the sprawling Humm for a commanding 4-0 lead.
At the half, the Lady Cougars had scored on four of their nine shots taken, holding a 9-3 edge. Mary Mancin played the first half in net for CSU, denying the lone shot attempt faced by Carson-Newman.
Lowery picked up the hat trick at the 57:02 mark in the contest. She received a ball from Parrish and Lowery beat Humm to the left side. Lowery leads the team with seven goals on the year.
Carson-Newman finally cracked the CSU defense as Morgan Gruenenfelder played Trenna Howell through the backline. Howell took a shot to the low left side of Columbus State goalkeeper Willi Babillis for the goal. Howell paces the Lady Falcons offense with three goals.
Sarah Rogers closed out the scoring in the match as she notched her first collegiate goal for Columbus State. The defender took a pass from fellow classmate Amanda Ducey and shot a low-liner. The ball caromed off the goalkeeper in the air and carried into the net.
