Stephen WilliamsDAHLONEGA, Ga. – Moving two spots up the leaderboard from round one, the Columbus State University women's golf team finished fifth Tuesday at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial hosted by North Georgia. The tournament was played at the Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Ga.
Columbus State posted the fourth-lowest team round of the day shooting 324 on Tuesday to wrap up play with a total of 667.
Lee (609) narrowly edged out West Georgia (610) to take home the team title, with West Alabama (624) and North Georgia (640) finishing third and fourth, respectively.
For the second straight day,
Sarah Grace Drop led the Lady Cougars. The freshman knocked two strokes off her opening round to post a five-over par 77 in round two. Drop ended at 12-over for the tournament in 13
th place overall, her best finish of the season.
Bailey Hochgertle also broke 80 on Tuesday, shooting a seven-over 79. Her 21-over total of 165 tied her for 22
nd place.
Jordan Booker improved the most for the Lady Cougars on day two, shaving seven strokes off her first round score. With a final round 83, Booker wrapped up play with a 173 total in a tie for 33
rd.
Shelby Banta bettered her Monday score by four strokes in round two with an 85. One stroke back of Booker's final score, Banta finished in a 36
th-place tie.
Hannah Holland posted the drop score for the Lady Cougars on Tuesday at 91. Her final total of 180 was good enough for 46
th place.
Columbus State will play in one more tournament during the fall season, traveling next week to the Flagler Fall Slam in St. Augustine, Fla.
