Stephen WilliamsCALERA, Ala. – In the first round of the 2015-16 season, the Columbus State University women's golf team posted a team score of 334 and sits in seventh place at the Full Moon Invitational hosted by Montevallo. The two-day event is being played at the Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Ala.

Tournament host Montevallo holds a 12-shot edge atop the leaderboard with a score of 296. West Georgia (308), West Alabama (314), Shorter (316) and North Georgia (323) round out the top five.

One of four Columbus State freshmen to play in the event, Phenix City, Ala. native
Sarah Grace Drop posted the top Lady Cougar score of the day. Drop posted a first round of eight-over par 79. She sits in a tie for 15
th place overall.

The only returning player for the 2015-16 season, sophomore
Shelby Banta is in 24
th place after Monday's opening round. Banta carded a round of 10-over 81.

Freshman
Jordan Booker will enter the second round in 30
th place after a round of 86, while fellow freshmen
Hannah Holland and
Bailey Hochgertle each shot 88 and are tied for 34
th.

The Lady Cougars will return to the course on Tuesday for the final round of the tournament.Â
