Stephen WilliamsCALERA, Ala. – The Columbus State University women's golf team wrapped up play with an eighth-place finish at the 2015 Full Moon Invitational hosted by Montevallo. The tournament was played at the Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Ala.

Columbus State carded a team score of 337 on the second day of competition to finish with a total of 671 overall. Montevallo captured the team championship with a score of 590, 21 strokes ahead of West Georgia (611) in second place. West Alabama (618), Shorter (632) and Young Harris (635) rounded out the top five.

For the second consecutive day, freshman
Sarah Grace Drop fired the top score for the Lady Cougars. She finished with a 10-over par 81 for a two-day total of 160. In her first collegiate tournament, Drop ended in a tie for 21
st place.

Shelby Banta also earned a top-30 finish, as the sophomore rounded out play with a round of 87. Her score of 168 placed her in a tie for 30
th overall in the event.

Freshmen
Jordan Booker and
Hannah Holland rounded out the team scoring on Tuesday with rounds of 85 and 84, respectively. Booker completed the two rounds with a score of 171 in 34
th place, while Holland shot 172 in a 35
th-place tie.

Bailey Hochgertle posted the drop score in the second round, firing a 91 to total 179 for the tournament. She finished in 38
th place overall.

Columbus State will tee it up again Sept. 26-27 at the Lady Bearcat Invitational in Hilton Head, S.C. hosted by Lander.
