AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Columbus State University volleyball team had seven players named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team for the 2016 season.

Megan Frame,
Abby King,
Caytlin Merritt,
Savannah Miller,
Sabrina Rodgers,
Andrea Skipor and
Malaisia Stallworth were each honored as part of the 45-member team.

Frame, Merritt and Skipor have now been named to the team for three consecutive years, while Rodgers is on it for the second time. The sophomore trio of King, Miller and Stallworth are being recognized for the first time.

Columbus State's seven selections were tied for the second-most of any conference institution.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.

The Lady Cougars will begin postseason play on Friday with the Peach Belt Conference quarterfinals. CSU will take on Flagler at 10 a.m. in Milledgeville, Ga.
