Stephen WilliamsCOLUMBUS – Wrapping up its lone home event of the season, the Columbus State University women's golf team finished in fourth place at the 2016 Lady Cougar Classic. The two-day event was played at the Country Club of Columbus.

Columbus State shaved three strokes off its opening round for a second round team score of 326. The Lady Cougars tallied a 655 total over the two rounds.

Montevallo widened its lead on Tuesday to run away from the field for the team title with a score of 602. Lee (640) finished in second, while North Georgia (645) took third. Point (713) ended in fifth place.

Sarah Grace Drop fired the only Lady Cougar round of the day under 80 with a round of 79 on Tuesday. The freshman recorded her lone birdie of the day on the par 5 15
th to help her earn a seventh-place finish overall.

After posting the CSU drop score on Monday,
Bailey Hochgertle rebounded and posted an 81 in the second round. A birdie on the third and six straight pars in the middle of the round aided the freshman as she finished in 21
st.

Shelby Banta and
Hannah Holland both carded rounds of 83 on Tuesday to wrap up the CSU team score. Banta got off to a good start with a birdie on two and finished tied for 12
th overall, while Holland closed out in 16
th.

Jordan Booker shot a round of 89 on Tuesday and finished in an 18
th-place tie.

Columbus State will be right back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Armstrong Pirate Women's Invitational in Pooler, Ga.
