Stephen WilliamsST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Columbus State University women's golf team showed big improvement on the second day of competition as it wrapped up play at the World Golf Invitational. The tournament was played at the Slammer and Squire Course in St. Augustine, Fla.

Columbus State shaved 21 strokes of its score from Sunday's opening round and carded a team score of 342 to close out the tournament in 18
th place with a two-day total of 705.

Florida Tech held the lead after day one and pulled away on Monday for the victory. FIT turned in a final tally of 604, 14 shots ahead of Barry at 618. Keiser (620), Nova Southeastern (621) and SCAD Savannah (621) rounded out the top five.

Sarah Grace Drop made the biggest jump in the second round with a round of 78, 13 shots better than her round on Sunday. The freshman was the top Lady Cougar finisher in 71
st place.

Shelby Banta knocked two strokes off her opening round score and carded an 86 on Monday.
Jordan Booker and
Hannah Holland also found more success in the final round, both posting a round of 89.

Bailey Hochgertle recorded the drop score of 93 for the Lady Cougars on Monday.

Next up for Columbus State is its annual Lady Cougar Classic Feb. 22-23 at the Country Club of Columbus.
