Stephen WilliamsBIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Playing against a mostly Division I field, the Columbus State University women's golf team played 36 holes on Monday as part of the Samford Intercollegiate. The tournament is being played at the Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Ala.

Columbus State turned in rounds of 341 and 333 for a team total of 674. The Lady Cougars are in 10
th place.

Troy (577) holds the lead after the first 36 holes. Charleston Southern (594) is a distant second, while South Alabama (604), West Georgia (613) and Samford (616) round of the top five.

Sarah Grace Drop posted the lowest score of the day for the Lady Cougars. The freshman shot rounds of 84 and 81 and is tied for 48
th place.

Bailey Hochgertle fired the lowest round of the opening round for CSU at 83 and followed it with a round of 87. Hochgertle is in a 52
nd-place tie.

Hannah Holland and
Jordan Booker turned in identical days to sit in 54
th place. The duo fired rounds of 87 and 85 on Monday.

Sophomore
Shelby Banta struggled in the opening round with a 96, but knocked 14 shots off her score and turned in an 82 in the second round of the day.

Columbus State will wrap up play with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
