COLUMBUS – With all the Peach Belt Conference West Division teams separated by two games, the Columbus State University men's basketball team will host rival Montevallo Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Lumpkin Center.

Last Time Out

The Cougars got off to a slow start as Clayton State jumped out to a 23-8 lead and then finished off a 86-79 win on Saturday in Morrow, Ga. Arben Camaj scored 18 points after going 7-for-12 from the field. JaCori Payne scored 18 as well.

Moore on the Matchup

"This is a very important game. We can't afford to keep dropping games and start building a winning streak. The end of the season is right around the corner and we have to battle every game to keep pace in the standings."

Series History

Montevallo has been in control of the series history against the Cougars holding a 23-7 all-time mark. The Falcons had a four-game winning streak in the series snapped last year, but still have won 17 of the last 19 against CSU.

Last Meeting

The Cougars won a thrilling 69-68 game against Montevallo on February 17, 2016 in Columbus. DeMarcus McVay hit the game-winning shot with 0.4 seconds left to cap off a Cougar comeback. CSU was down five with three minutes to go before stepping up its defensive play to fuel the win.
