Lady Cougars Back Home for Young Harris

COLUMBUS – After three straight matches on the road, the 16th-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team will be back at home on Wednesday night to take on Young Harris. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Walden Soccer Complex.
 
Wednesday night is CSU's annual Pink Night, with the Lady Cougars auctioning off their jerseys and proceeds from the evening going to the American Cancer Society.

Last Time Out
 
Columbus State (8-1-0, 5-1-0 PBC) rolled to an 11-0 victory at Georgia Southwestern on Saturday. Riley Clark netted a hat trick in her first match back after missing the previous four, while Kimmy May and Flo Spano each found the net twice.

"Young Harris is very talented. The have good athletes all over the field and will present us with several challenges. They played us extremely tough at their place last year and we know that we have to be sharp to get a result."
 
Last Meeting
 
After playing a scoreless first half, the Lady Cougars finally got on the board behind a goal from Olivia Jarrell in the 54th minute. CSU would make the goal stand for a narrow 1-0 victory last October.
 
Series History
 
Columbus State has won all five previous meetings between the two programs since Young Harris joined the Peach Belt Conference in 2012. The Lady Cougars hold a 17-3 goal differential in the five matches.
 
About Young Harris
 
YHC (6-2-1, 3-0-1) lost two of their first three matches of the season, but have not dropped a match since Sept. 8.
 
The Mountain Lions are unbeaten in conference play holding wins against North Georgia, USC Aiken and Francis Marion and a tie with Flagler.
 
After surrendering five goals in a season-opening loss to Queens, Young Harris has allowed just four goals over its last eight matches.
 
The Mountain Lions are averaging just 1.78 goals per match, led by Baylee Roche's six goals.

The Lady Cougars exploded for 11 goals on Saturday, vaulting CSU back on top of the nation's scoring lead at 4.56 goals per match.
 
Columbus State currently leads the country in goals, assists and points per match.
 
With CSU's first hat trick of the season, Riley Clark took over the team lead in goals with eight.
 
The sophomore has scored in four of the five matches she's played this season, with multiple goals in three.
