COLUMBUS – The Columbus State University men's basketball team will hit the road this weekend for a pair of games in Jefferson City, Tenn. The Cougars will take on Tusculum Saturday at 6 p.m. and Carson-Newman Sunday at 3 p.m. Both games will be played at Carson-Newman.

Columbus State is 1-1 all-time against Tusculum with both previous meetings coming in Greenville, Tenn. The Cougars own a pair of victories over Carson-Newman in three all-time matchups.
Last Meetings
Columbus State played Tusculum and C-N on the same weekend in November of 2012 in Greenville, Tenn. CSU fell 84-60 against Carson-Newman before rebounding for a 73-53 win over TC.
About Tusculum
The Pioneers are off to a slow start this season, dropping four of their first five contests.
The lone TC win was a 69-67 victory over Belmont Abbey last Saturday.
Tusculum has allowed a lot of points through five games, surrendering 92 points per game to its opponents with two teams scoring in triple digits.
Junior Peyton Woods is leading the Pioneers in scoring at 18.2 points per contest with 15 made 3-pointers.
About Carson-Newman
C-N is unbeaten in four games this season and aims for its first 6-0 start since 1987-88.
The Eagles will take on Lee on Saturday before hosting the Cougars for a Sunday showdown.
Carson-Newman ranks second in the country through four games in field goal percentage, knocking down shots at a 55.9 percent clip.
The Eagles are led by reigning South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year Charles Clark, who is averaging 22.5 points per night this season.
CSU Notes
The Cougars dropped their season opener for the first time since the 2010-11 season,
Robert Moore's first at the helm.
It was a tale of two halves defensively for the Cougars last week, holding Montevallo to 44 percent shooting in the first before allowing the Falcons to shoot 62.1 percent in the second.
Despite having a deep bench, Columbus State's five starters scored 59 of 62 points in the opener.
JaCori Payne picked up right where he left off last season, crossing the 20-point plateau for the 15
th time in his career.
