COLUMBUS – Following a 12-day layoff, the second-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team will head back out on the field on Saturday at USC Aiken. The Peach Belt Conference opener is set to kick off at 1 p.m.

Columbus State (2-0) scored its highest-ranked win in program history with a 5-1 rout of second-ranked Grand Valley State on Sept. 4. After falling behind 1-0,
Riley Clark found the equalizer in the 19
th minute and
Maddy Peterson gave CSU the lead for good less than one minute later.
Parker Morgan added a goal right before the half, while
Olivia Jarrell and
Amanda Murphy tacked on second-half goals for the victory.

Last Meeting
Columbus State netted three first half goals on its way to a 7-0 home victory over USC Aiken last September.
Flo Spano tallied a hat trick and two assists on the day to set the program's single-match points record, for which she was later named NSCAA National Player of the Week.
Series History
The Lady Cougars are a perfect 15-0-0 all-time against USC Aiken. The 15 victories are the third-most against an opponent in CSU program history.
About USC Aiken
The Pacers are 2-3 overall to start the season, getting wins over Mars Hill and North Greenville.
USCA last played on Sept. 8, taking a 2-1 loss at Lincoln Memorial.
Through five matches, the Pacers have outshot opponents by more than five shots per match, but have been outscored 11-7.
Senior Sarah Moore and freshman Marissa Lee lead the Pacers with two goals apiece.
CSU Notes
Saturday marks the start of conference play for Columbus State, as it tries to capture a fifth consecutive PBC regular season title.
The Lady Cougars tallied 12 goals over the first two matches, their highest total through two games to start a season in program history.
Columbus State currently leads the country in scoring, averaging 6.0 goals per match.
Seven of CSU's 12 goals have been scored by non-starters, including a team-high three from
Riley Clark and two from
Parker Morgan.
