Columbus State (2-6, 2-3 PBC) dropped a 95-80 decision to North Georgia on Wednesday. 
JaCori Payne led all scorers with 23 points, while 
Marcus Dixon matched his career high with 23.

Series History
 
CSU and Augusta will tangle for the 80
th time on Saturday, with the Cougars holding a 44-35 edge in the all-time series. The Cougars won two out of three meetings between the two last season.
 
Last Meeting
 
The lone Augusta win over the Cougars last season was a big one, as the Jaguars downed CSU 102-68 in the NCAA Tournament first round. CSU got 23 points and 11 rebounds from 
Marcus Dixon and 22 points from 
JaCori Payne.

Augusta (7-4, 4-1) started the season just 2-3, but has won five of its last six games including an 89-80 win at Flagler on Wednesday.
 
Dip Metress won his 300
th game as head coach of the Jaguars back on Dec. 19.
 
The Jaguars lost the Peach Belt Conference's all-time leading scorer in Keshun Sherrill after last season
 
Four Jaguars are averaging in double figures, led by Deane Williams at 16.2 points per night.

The Cougars are trying to avoid their first four-game losing streak since February of 2010, one year prior to 
Robert Moore taking over the program.
 
Through five games, Columbus State is the top shooting team in PBC play at 47.9 percent as a team.
 
Marcus Dixon (55.2 percent) and 
JaCori Payne (52.9 percent) rank fifth and eighth, respectively, in the PBC in field goal percentage.
 
Payne also ranks seventh in 3-point shooting at 45.8 percent, while 
John Lambert is right behind him at 45.2 percent.
