COLUMBUS – The postseason starts on Tuesday for the third-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team, as the Lady Cougars host Clayton State in the quarterfinal round of the Peach Belt Conference tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Walden Soccer Complex.

Columbus State (14-0-1) completed just the second unbeaten regular season in program history with a 4-1 victory at North Georgia on Saturday night. The 10-0-0 mark in PBC play was also just the fourth perfect record for CSU in conference action.

Behind its sixth straight regular season conference title, the Lady Cougars are the top seed in this week's PBC Tournament. CSU holds the No. 1 seed for the ninth time in program history.

Columbus State owns a conference-best seven tournament championships, including three straight from 2014-16. The Lady Cougars are 29-6-1 all-time in PBC Tournament play and 19-2-1 as the No. 1 overall seed.

Columbus State and Clayton State met back on Sept. 29 at the Walden Soccer Complex, with the Lady Cougars picking up a 3-1 victory.
Kimmy May tallied the opening goal in the 61
st minute, but the Lakers equalized with a penalty kick five minutes later. However, CSU struck two more times with goals from
Olivia Jarrell and
Maria Kilset to secure the win.

The two programs have met just twice in conference tournament action, with the Lakers winning in the 2005 championship and the Lady Cougars getting a win in the 2008 quarterfinals. Columbus State is 15-3 in 18 all-time matches against the Lakers, including eight straight victories at the Walden Soccer Complex.

Clayton State (6-5-4) is the eighth-seed in the tournament after a 3-5-2 PBC record this season. The Lakers drew 2-2 at USC Aiken in their regular season finale on Wednesday.

The Lakers are seventh in the Peach Belt at 1.73 goals per match, while CSU leads the PBC and ranks second in the country at 4.20.
