COLUMBUS – The third-ranked Columbus State University women's soccer team takes to the road on Saturday for a match against USC Aiken. The Peach Belt Conference match is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. in Aiken, S.C.
Columbus State (8-0-1, 5-0-0 PBC) tallied its fifth straight victory on Thursday, with a 4-1 win over UNC Pembroke. The Lady Cougars currently sit atop the PBC standings with 15 points on the season.
CSU enters Saturday unbeaten in nine matches this season. The Lady Cougars are one of 10 teams in NCAA Division II without a loss on the year.
Columbus State tallied four more goals in Thursday's victory, making it five straight matches with at least three tallies. The scoring streak is the longest stretch with at least three goals since doing so in nine straight matches during the 2016 season.
Saturday will mark the 17
th all-time meeting between the two programs. Columbus State has won all 16 of the previous matchups. The 16 victories for the Lady Cougars are the most against any opponent without suffering a loss.
CSU has outscored the Pacers 75-4 in the all-time series, including 21-0 over the last four matches. The Lady Cougars won 4-0 at USC Aiken last year behind a pair of goals from
Riley Clark.
USC Aiken (2-5-0, 0-2-0) is coming off a 3-0 win over Erskine on Wednesday. However, the Pacers lost their previous two matches to Flagler and North Georgia by a combined 12-1.
USCA doubled its scoring output for the season on Wednesday and now has six goals on the year.
