AUGUSTA, Ga. – The third-ranked Columbus State University women's tennis team grabbed another weekly honor on Tuesday, as
Giorgia Vitale was selected as the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week.

Vitale becomes the fourth different Lady Cougar to earn the weekly recognition this season and the eighth overall between the men's and women's programs.

The Pordenone, Italy native went 4-0 last week helping the Lady Cougars to wins at Shorter and No. 29 North Georgia. Vitale lost just two games in her two singles matches and teamed up with
Marleen Tilgner for a pair of doubles victories.

Vitale is 13-2 this season in singles action, including a perfect 7-0 mark in conference matches. The senior is also 17-1 this season in doubles.

The Lady Cougars have won 10 consecutive matches to improve their record to 17-1 overall and 8-0 in PBC play. CSU will take on Auburn Montgomery on Wednesday at the John W. Walden Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
