GAFFNEY, S.C. - Columbus State University women's soccer player
Riley Clark was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Southeast Region first team while
Madeline Goodfellow earned a spot on the second team.
It's the second straight year that Clark has earned a spot on the 13-member first team. She will now advance to the All-America ballot with the selections being announced later this month. Goodfellow has now been a second team selection in all three years of her career.
Clark wrapped up a historic career in 2019 leading the Lady Cougars with 15 goals and six assists. The senior's 36 points were the third most in the Peach Belt Conference and rank 25th in the nation. Clark also set a program record by scoring in nine consecutive matches, including tallying her third career hat trick in the streak. The All-PBC performer won the conference's Select Sport Gold Ball Award given to the player with the most goals in conference matches.
In her four-year career, Clark had 51 goals and 17 assists for 109 points. She is only one of six players in PBC history to reach the 50-career goal mark while ranking third all-time in CSU history. The Peachtree City, Ga. native is also tied for fourth in the Columbus State record book for points.
One of the key components to the Lady Cougar defense, Goodfellow became a first team All-PBC player for the third time in her career earlier this month. Goodfellow helped CSU to eight shutouts in 2019, including six in the final eight matches. Down the stretch, the junior and CSU's defense hit its stride allowing just three goals over the final 10 matches of the season.
Goodfellow has started every match in her three-year career and hardly leaves the pitch. This season, she led the team in minutes (1,714) while tallying over 5,000 in her career.
Both Clark and Goodfellow were named to the Southeast Region Academic All-District Team selected by CoSIDA as well for their work in the classroom. The Academic All-America teams will be announced in early December.
Sports Information Directors from the NCAA Division II Southeast Region selected the two D2CCA All-Region teams. The process concludes with All-America selections announced later in the month, with members from the first team in each region eligible for the honor.
