COLUMBUS - Looking to win its fourth straight, the Columbus State University men's basketball team will head to Tuskegee, Ala. to face off against the Golden Tigers on Wednesday. Tip time is slated at 8:30 p.m. inside Chappie James Arena.
The Cougars are coming off an impressive performance defeating Albany State 80-68 on Saturday, Dec. 7. CSU got double-figure scoring outputs from four players in the victory led by a career-high 21 points from
Stanley Taylor.Â
Earlier last week, Columbus State also took down West Georgia 86-81 inside the Lumpkin Center. Â
"I was impressed with the performances last week," commented head coach
Robert Moore. "We knocked off two good teams, and I'm eager to see how the guys respond on the road against a team that will be hungry for revenge."
The Cougars and Tuskegee met on Nov. 23 in Columbus with the Cougars coming away with a 76-67 victory.
Landrius Horton scored 22 points while
Anthony Moore added 17.

Tuskegee will enter Wednesday with a 3-5 overall record after dropping a tight 76-71 decision at West Florida on Dec. 4. Since losing to the Cougars, the Golden Tigers have alternated wins and losses, including picking up a victory against Montevallo.
TU has three scoring threats in James Eads (19.1 PPG), Myles Thomas (14.6 PPG), and Deshawn Millington (13.6 PPG). Thomas is a deep threat shooting 45.5 percent (15-for-33) from beyond the arc. Eads scored 24 against the Cougars in the previous meeting.
Cougar Notes
• For the second time this season, Landrius Horton was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday. The senior averaged 20.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in the two Cougar victories.
• Horton becomes the first Cougar to win two Player of the Week honors since 2014-15 when DeAngelo Kirkland accomplished the feat.
• Columbus State's defense continues to force havoc. The Cougars rank fifth at the Division II level in steals per game (11.9) while Bryant Givens is second individually averaging 3.3 per game.
• In the first meeting of the season, the Cougars forced a season-high 23 Tuskegee turnovers.
• Three players set or tied a season-high in points against Albany State on Dec. 7 (Stanley Taylor 21, Robert Davis Jr. 12, Hunter Preston 10).
• CSU's bench scored a season-high 32 points against Albany State. The previous high was 23 in the season opener against Barton.Â
• Columbus State will be in search of its first four-game winning streak since the start of the 2016-17 season.
•  The Cougars have won 10 straight against Tuskegee dating back to the 1994-95 season.
• CSU hasn't played in Tuskegee since the 2004-05 season. The Cougars won the meeting 97-86 on Dec. 5, 2004.
