COLUMBUS - The Cougars were in full force this weekend helping the Chattahoochee Valley community as over 175 Columbus State University student-athletes and staff participated in the University's annual Day of Service.
One of the highlights of the year, the annual event allows Columbus State students, faculty and staff to give back to the Columbus area. It also helps the CSU community to connect with individuals all across the region with partnerships with over 30 non-profit organizations.
Nearly every program was represented on Saturday with the Cougars and Lady Cougars volunteering their time at Feeding the Valley, the Columbus Habitat for Humanity, the National Infantry Museum, and at many other organizations across the region. Also, the Cougar cheerleading team participated at the Country's Barbecue Midnight Express later that evening.
"I am so proud of the leadership of our coaches and staff, and the enthusiasm of our student-athletes, in supporting this important community service event," said Director of Athletics Todd Reeser. "Well done Cougars!"
Throughout the year, the Columbus State University Athletics Department volunteers countless hours in the community to show Columbus and the surrounding area how much its support means to the Cougar family.
